Paro is one of the prominent tourism Destination in Bhutan.Paro is a standard place to tour while visiting Bhutan from India.Paro is a town and seat of Paro District, in the Paro Valley of Bhutan. It is a historic town with many sacred sites and historical buildings scattered throughout the area. It is also home to Paro Airport, Bhutan's sole international that receive International Flight traffic.Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom up to Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley.Paro is a town with more 155 temples and monasteries in the area, some dating as far back as the 14th century. Itinerary Detail
Day 01: Arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP) / Bagdogra Airport(IXB) Transfer to Jaigaon/Phuentsholing
Arrive at the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)/ Bagdogra Airport (IXB) where our representative will come to receive you. 5-6 hour drive to Jaigaon/Phuentsholing where you will check in at the Hotel and spend the rest of the day at ease. Overnight stay at Jaigaon/ Phuentsholing Hotel.
Day 02:Jaigaon/Phuentsholing to Thimphu
Today you will start your journey from Phuentsholing to Thimphu (7,500 ft), the capital of Bhutan. On the way, enjoy the beauty of Bhutan Himalaya. On Road Water Falls & Natural Sightseeing, Chukha Dam (Top View) En-route. On arrival at Thimphu check into your respective hotel. Overnight at Thimphu
Day 03: Thimphu Local Sightseeing
After Breakfast start for Thimpu Local Sightseeing Covering 1) Buddha Point, 2) BBS Tower 3)Tashicchhoe Dzong, 4) The Memorial Chorten 5) National Library 6) Handicraft Institute 07) Zangthopelri Lhakhang 08) Motithang Takin Reserve (Takin Zoo) 09) Semtokha Dzong - Overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 04: Thimphu to Paro Transfer
After Breakfast drive to Paro, visiting Simtokha Dzong en route. This Dzong, built in 1627 is the oldest in Bhutan. The valley of Paro contains a wealth of attractions. In the morning, visit Ta Dzong. Once a watchtower, built to defend Rinpung Dzong during inter-valley wars of the 17th century, Ta Dzong was inaugurated as Bhutan’s National Museum in 1968. Arrive Paro and check into the hotel. Afterwards, walk down a hillside trail to visit Rinpung Dzong, which has long and fascinating history. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 05: Paro Local Sightseeing
After breakfast , Visit Kichu Lakhang , Drungyel Dzong , Rin Pung Dzong , Airport view point , National Museum , Jangtsa Dumgtseg Lhakhang , Dobji Dzong . Overnight stay at Paro
DAY 06: Visit Paro Taktsang( Tiger Nest Monastery )
Located 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the north of Paro and hangs on a precarious cliff at 3,120 metres (10,240 ft), about 900 metres (3,000 ft) above the Paro valley, on the right side of the Paro Chu (‘chu’ Bhutanese means ”river or water”. The rock slopes are very steep and the monastery buildings are built into the rock face.The visit to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery takes a full day. On average, it takes between four and five hours to do the round trip hike, plus one more hour to tour the monastery.Plan on leaving Paro around 8 am and arriving back at your hotel around 3 pm.Overnight stay in Paro.
DAY 07: Visit Haa valley & Chelela Pass
After breakfast , visit Chelela Pass.Chele La Pass at over 13,000 ft to the west above the Paro Valley is the highest road pass in the country and has amazing views of the Himalaya especially that of Mt. Jhomolari,Haa Valley, is at the base of 3 sacred hills known as ‘Miri Punsum’. Ugyen and Chimi’s family have their ancestral roots in the Haa valley and are known as Haaps amongst the Bhutanese. Haa Valley takes you through to the magical place beyond mountains in Bhutan where the world is so serene and light is pristine.Overnight Stay in Paro.
DAY 08: Transfer from Paro to Phuentsholing/Jaigaon
After breakfast check out of your hotel and start for Phuentsholing/Jaigaon.Overnight Stay in Phuentsholing / Jaigaon
DAY 08: Transfer from Phuentsholing/Jaigaon to Bagdogra Airport/New Jalpaiguri railway station.
